LADY BROWSTORY

Pre + Post Care
It's strongly recommended to follow the Lady BrowStory Pre & Post Care instructions to achieve the best possible outcomes and extend the longevity of your tattoo. These instructions are provided as a guideline only and we cannot guarantee results, as each client's skin responds differently. The time it takes to heal and the number of sessions needed for colour retention and achieving the desired look will vary. It's important to take good care of your treated areas during the healing period and beyond.
For an optimal cosmetic tattoo experience, it's vital to have your skin and body well-prepared. Adhere to the following advice to guarantee the best outcome for your cosmetic tattooing.
• It's advisable to consume a light meal before your session to maintain stable blood sugar levels.
• Refrain from wearing makeup, especially in the area designated for tattooing.
• Physical exercise on the day of your treatment is discouraged as it can enlarge the pores due to elevated body heat.
• Limit sun exposure in the weeks leading up to your session; excessive sun can heighten skin sensitivity.
• Avoid caffeine-containing beverages on the day of your session.
• Caffeine can elevate the risk of bleeding during the treatment, which can hinder pigment retention.
• Unless prescribed by a physician, refrain from taking Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, Ibuprofen, or Omega-3 for 48-72 hours ahead of your treatment. Such substances can thin the blood.
• Steer clear of alcohol a day before the treatment, as it too acts as a blood thinner.
• Make sure that you've had a gap of at least three weeks since any Botox treatments before undergoing PMU. If you're contemplating Botox, prioritise your tattoo procedure.
• Acne medications like Accutane or Retin-A affect skin conditions. If you've consumed them in the past year, delay your tattooing session by at least a year. Avoid Retinol and Vitamin A a month ahead of your session.
• Ensure a gap of at least three days since any Waxing or Tinting before the treatment.
• Consider taking an antihistamine to mitigate watery eyes (for eyeliner and lip procedures) and potential swelling.
• Remove eyelash extensions at least three days before an eyeliner procedure.
• Eyelash growth enhancers can make the skin more sensitive and prone to bleeding. It's wise to halt their use 3-6 months before your session.
• For post-procedure safety, remove contact lenses and wait for at least two hours before reinserting them. Keep a pair of spectacles handy or organise alternative transport.
• For those with a history of cold sores, there's a risk of a flare-up post lip treatment. Over-the-counter or prescribed anti-herpes medication can help when taken 5-7 days ahead of the procedure. Doubling up on Lysine doses two weeks before can also be beneficial.
